- As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God. - My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? - Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me. - The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life. - Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God. - For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword,
Nor did their own arm save them;
But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance,
Because You favored them. - God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. - Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth! - Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me. - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise. - Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is with those who uphold my life. - Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. - Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
- In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me? - Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth. - For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
And Your truth unto the clouds. - But I will sing of Your power;
Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;
For You have been my defense
And refuge in the day of my trouble. - Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved. - My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved. - In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God. - Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
For You render to each one according to his work. - O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
