Bible Verses about 'Relationships'
And where a single man can be overcome, two together will be able to resist. A cord with three strands is not easily broken. | And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. |
Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus. | Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. |
Who can find a worthy wife? She is far more precious than pearls. | An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. |
And if one should fall, his companion will help him up. How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls and has no one to assist him to his feet. | For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! |
You are all-beautiful, my love, without the slightest blemish. | You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. |
In view of all this, you should make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with piety, and piety with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. | For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. |
Two are better than one: they earn a far greater reward for their toil. | Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. |
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her in order to sanctify her by cleansing her with water and the word. | Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. |
May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you. | And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you. |
In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets. | So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. |
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not treat them harshly. | Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. |
Do not associate with unbelievers. For what basis can there be for a partnership between righteousness and lawlessness? What do light and darkness have in common? | Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? |
A house and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is a gift from the Lord. | House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. |
And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.” | Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” |
However, to avoid the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. | But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. |
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the wits of his neighbor. | Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. |
Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. | For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. |
And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. | But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |
A true friend is one at all times, and a brother is born to render help in time of need. | A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. |
Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church, the body of which he is the Savior. | Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. |
In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself. | In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. |

However, each one of you should love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife should respect her husband. | However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. |
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and offered worship and service to the creature rather than to the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural practices. Likewise, men gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameful acts with men and received in their own persons the fitting penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since these people did not see fit to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their depraved way of thinking and to all types of vile behavior. | Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. |
You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself. | You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. |
