Bible Verses about 'Relationships'
And where a single man can be overcome, two together will be able to resist. A cord with three strands is not easily broken. | If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. |
Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus. | Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus. |
Who can find a worthy wife? She is far more precious than pearls. | Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies. |
And if one should fall, his companion will help him up. How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls and has no one to assist him to his feet. | For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up. |
You are all-beautiful, my love, without the slightest blemish. | You are all beautiful, my love. There is no spot in you. |
In view of all this, you should make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with piety, and piety with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. | Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness; and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love. |
Two are better than one: they earn a far greater reward for their toil. | Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. |
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her in order to sanctify her by cleansing her with water and the word. | Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. |
May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you. | May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you. |
In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets. | Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets. |
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not treat them harshly. | Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them. |
Do not associate with unbelievers. For what basis can there be for a partnership between righteousness and lawlessness? What do light and darkness have in common? | Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? |
A house and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is a gift from the Lord. | House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh. |
And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.” | Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.” |
However, to avoid the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. | But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. |
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the wits of his neighbor. | Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance. |
Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. | For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ. |
And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. | But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |
A true friend is one at all times, and a brother is born to render help in time of need. | A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity. |
Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church, the body of which he is the Savior. | Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. |
In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself. | Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. |
An honorable name is more to be desired than great riches, and high esteem is preferable to silver and gold. | A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold. |
However, each one of you should love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife should respect her husband. | Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband. |
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and offered worship and service to the creature rather than to the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural practices. Likewise, men gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameful acts with men and received in their own persons the fitting penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since these people did not see fit to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their depraved way of thinking and to all types of vile behavior. | Who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting. |
You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself. | ‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ |
