but knowledge will rescue the righteous. - After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.
- If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
- So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
- And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped.
- God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!
- Help us, O God of our salvation!

Save us and forgive our sins
for the honor of your name. - But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

- For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. - Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
- God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
- In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
- Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.
- But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
