| In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. | So husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. |
| How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. | How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have performed for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of mankind! |
| Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. | Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. |
| Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. | Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. |

| But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. | The Lord redeems the souls of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will suffer for their guilt. |
| Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses. | Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. |

| I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. | Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. |

| I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live! | “For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God. “Therefore, repent and live!” |
| This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another. |
| Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. | Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. |

| Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. | In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. |
| Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. | Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithfulness; According to the greatness of Your compassion, wipe out my wrongdoings. Wash me thoroughly from my guilt And cleanse me from my sin. |
| Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. | With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. |
| “Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning to heart.” | “If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of armies, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.” |
| For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. | For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. |
