Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I don’t tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.”
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.Their eyes were opened, and they both knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism; but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.”
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine.Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine.

Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not be your ruin.
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is.Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.
At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”
This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’
Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed. For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see God’s glory?”
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done.
