| And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. | For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. | For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. |

| Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. | Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. |

| What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? | What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? |
| Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. | Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. |
