| I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. | The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. |

| Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” | But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” |
| As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them? | When goods increase, They increase who eat them; So what profit have the owners Except to see them with their eyes? |
| What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar. | What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar. |
| What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. | Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. |

| But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. | Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. |
| What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? |
| You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. | But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine. |
| See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. | Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. |
| Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. | Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. |
| Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? | And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? |
| I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king. | I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king’s demand. |
| Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. | And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. |
| But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. | Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. |
| This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.” | For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live.” |
| But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. | But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. |
| Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. | Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. |
| You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. | You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. |

| Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. | Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. |
