Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. | You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. |

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. | No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. |
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. | For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. |
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. | If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him. |
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. | Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. |
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. | Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near. |

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. | By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. |
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. | You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. |
The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. | The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. |
Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. | You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold. |
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. | Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. |
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. | Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. |
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. | So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. |
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. | For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. |
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. | Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. |

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? | Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? |
