« Isaiah 9:6 »
King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
