| Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? | Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? |
| And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? | Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? |

| And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. |
| But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. | But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. |
| So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” | Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” |
| For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. | I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. |

| Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” | Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” |
| You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. | You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. |
| You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess. | Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. |
| And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. | If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. |
| And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. | And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. |
| Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken. | Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. |
| Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. | But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. |
| These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. | I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. |
| I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. | And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. |
| You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. | Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. |
| But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. | Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. |
| I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. | I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. |

| If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him. | If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. |
| How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house. | You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. |
| This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. | My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. |
| For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
