Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord. | Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord. |
If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. | For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. | For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. |
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. | So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. |
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! | Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. |
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. | For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. | The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. |
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. | “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. |
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. | Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. |
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. | The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. |
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? |
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. | And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing. |
Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! | Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. |
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. | There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. |
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. | Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.” | “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.” |
