Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.
Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.One who is slow to anger has great understanding; But one who is quick-tempered exalts foolishness.
For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.Because in much wisdom there is much grief; and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain.

Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent person conceals dishonor.
Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.Many will be purged, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible.

A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.A wise son makes a father glad, But a foolish son is a grief to his mother.
