Chinese (traditional)Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. Such godly sorrow results in repentance that leads to salvation and causes no regret, whereas worldly sorrow produces death. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry. So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”Next verse! With image
