| But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. | But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.” |
| And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. | And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. |
| And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. | And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus. |
