« Acts 16:31 »
King James VersionNew Internation Version
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
