| Gedenke des Sabbattages, dass du ihn heiligst. Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten und alle deine Werke tun. Aber am siebenten Tage ist der Sabbat des HERRN, deines Gottes. Da sollst du keine Arbeit tun, auch nicht dein Sohn, deine Tochter, dein Knecht, deine Magd, dein Vieh, auch nicht dein Fremdling, der in deiner Stadt lebt. Denn in sechs Tagen hat der HERR Himmel und Erde gemacht und das Meer und alles, was darinnen ist, und ruhte am siebenten Tage. Darum segnete der HERR den Sabbattag und heiligte ihn. | Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. |
| Den Sabbattag sollst du halten, dass du ihn heiligst, wie dir der HERR, dein Gott, geboten hat. Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten und alle deine Werke tun. Aber am siebenten Tag ist der Sabbat des HERRN, deines Gottes. Da sollst du keine Arbeit tun, auch nicht dein Sohn, deine Tochter, dein Knecht, deine Magd, dein Rind, dein Esel, all dein Vieh, auch nicht dein Fremdling, der in deiner Stadt lebt, auf dass dein Knecht und deine Magd ruhen gleichwie du. | Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. |

Nach meinen Geboten sollt ihr leben, und meine Gesetze sollt ihr halten und danach tun; und meine Sabbate sollt ihr heiligen, dass sie ein Zeichen seien zwischen mir und euch, damit ihr wisst, dass ich, der HERR, euer Gott bin. | I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God. |
| Wenn du deinen Fuß am Sabbat zurückhältst und nicht deinen Geschäften nachgehst an meinem heiligen Tage und den Sabbat »Lust« nennst und den heiligen Tag des HERRN »Geehrt«; wenn du ihn dadurch ehrst, dass du nicht deine Gänge machst und nicht deine Geschäfte treibst und kein leeres Geschwätz redest, dann wirst du deine Lust haben am HERRN, und ich will dich über die Höhen auf Erden gehen lassen und will dich speisen mit dem Erbe deines Vaters Jakob; denn des HERRN Mund hat's geredet. | If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. |
| Und Gott segnete den siebenten Tag und heiligte ihn, weil er an ihm ruhte von allen seinen Werken, die Gott geschaffen und gemacht hatte. | And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. |
| Und es begab sich, dass er am Sabbat durch die Kornfelder ging, und seine Jünger fingen an, während sie gingen, Ähren auszuraufen. Und die Pharisäer sprachen zu ihm: Sieh doch! Warum tun deine Jünger am Sabbat, was nicht erlaubt ist? Und er sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr nie gelesen, was David tat, da er Mangel hatte und ihn hungerte, ihn und die bei ihm waren: wie er ging in das Haus Gottes zur Zeit des Hohenpriesters Abjatar und aß die Schaubrote, die niemand essen darf als die Priester, und gab sie auch denen, die bei ihm waren? Und er sprach zu ihnen: Der Sabbat ist um des Menschen willen gemacht und nicht der Mensch um des Sabbats willen. So ist der Menschensohn Herr auch über den Sabbat. | And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. |
| Wie viel mehr ist nun ein Mensch als ein Schaf! Darum ist es erlaubt, am Sabbat Gutes zu tun. | How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. |
| Der eine hält einen Tag für höher als den andern; der andere aber hält alle Tage für gleich. Ein jeder sei seiner Meinung gewiss. | One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. |
| So lasst euch nun von niemandem ein schlechtes Gewissen machen wegen Speise und Trank oder wegen eines Feiertages, Neumondes oder Sabbats. Das alles ist nur ein Schatten des Zukünftigen; der Leib aber ist Christus eigen. | Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. |
| Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten; der siebente Tag aber ist ein feierlicher Sabbat, heilige Versammlung. Keine Arbeit sollt ihr an ihm tun; denn es ist ein Sabbat für den HERRN, überall, wo ihr wohnt. | Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. |
| Es ist also noch eine Ruhe vorhanden für das Volk Gottes. Denn wer in seine Ruhe eingegangen ist, der ruht auch von seinen Werken so wie Gott von den seinen. | There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. |
| Und er lehrte in einer Synagoge am Sabbat. Und siehe, eine Frau war da, die hatte seit achtzehn Jahren einen Geist, der sie krank machte; und sie war verkrümmt und konnte sich nicht mehr aufrichten. Als aber Jesus sie sah, rief er sie zu sich und sprach zu ihr: Frau, du bist erlöst von deiner Krankheit! Und legte die Hände auf sie; und sogleich richtete sie sich auf und pries Gott. Da antwortete der Vorsteher der Synagoge, denn er war unwillig, dass Jesus am Sabbat heilte, und sprach zu dem Volk: Es sind sechs Tage, an denen man arbeiten soll; an denen kommt und lasst euch heilen, aber nicht am Sabbattag. Da antwortete ihm der Herr und sprach: Ihr Heuchler! Bindet nicht jeder von euch am Sabbat seinen Ochsen oder Esel von der Krippe los und führt ihn zur Tränke? Musste dann nicht diese, die doch Abrahams Tochter ist, die der Satan schon achtzehn Jahre gebunden hatte, am Sabbat von dieser Fessel gelöst werden? Und als er das sagte, schämten sich alle, die gegen ihn waren. Und alles Volk freute sich über alle herrlichen Taten, die durch ihn geschahen. | And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. |
| Haltet meine Sabbate und habt Ehrfurcht vor meinem Heiligtum. Ich bin der HERR. | Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. |
| So lasst uns nun bemüht sein, in diese Ruhe einzugehen, damit nicht jemand zu Fall komme wie in diesem Beispiel des Ungehorsams. | Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. |
| Denn du sollst daran denken, dass auch du Knecht in Ägyptenland warst und der HERR, dein Gott, dich von dort herausgeführt hat mit mächtiger Hand und ausgerecktem Arm. Darum hat dir der HERR, dein Gott, geboten, dass du den Sabbattag halten sollst. | And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. |
