With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved). But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
