If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
