| Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last. | Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. |

| Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol. | In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. | Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. | For he will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever. |
| This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
| For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. | For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. |
