Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. | As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby. |

As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. | But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine. |
Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. | Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. |
Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people. | Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue. |
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. | Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. |
So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. | Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment. |
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. | Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. |
Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. | When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. |
For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? | For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? |
Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. | Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. |
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. | Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. |
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. | And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. |
The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up. | The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. |
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. | Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. |
