Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. | Fix your thoughts on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth. |
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. | Persevere in prayer, with alert minds and thankful hearts. |
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. | Make every effort to present yourself before God as one who is worthy of his approval, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, but who imparts the word of truth without any alteration. |
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. | Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |

People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. | A man’s ways may seem right to him, but the Lord weighs the heart. |
He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. | For he guards the paths of justice and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. |
