| Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. | Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. |
| The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord. | Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. |
| But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. | But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. |
| A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. | A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. |

| Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. | Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. |
