| Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. | Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. |
| A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. | A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. |
| What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. | The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar. |
