You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am. | You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. |

Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong. | For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong. |
Therefore you shall keep my commandments, and do them. I am Yahweh. | You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord. |
I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask. I am found by those who didn’t seek me. I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name. | I was eager to respond to those who did not consult me. I was anxious to be approached by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am! Here I am!” to a nation that did not summon me. |
You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh. | Observe my Sabbaths and stand in awe before my sanctuary. I am the Lord. |
Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. | Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and give you help, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. |
Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? | I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything impossible for me to accomplish? |
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. | Be still and acknowledge that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth. |

Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. | I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. |
I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!” | I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!” |
Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. | Behold, I am coming soon, and I will bring with me my reward to repay everyone as his deeds deserve. |
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ. | Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. |
You shall be holy to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that you should be mine. | You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine. |
Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the first, and with the last, I am he. | Who has performed these deeds and accomplished this? Who has summoned the nations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am the first, and I will be there with the last. |
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” | “But you,” he said to them, “who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” |
