Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. |
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. | I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture. |

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? | But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him? |
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. | If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless. |
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. | Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise. |
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. | But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. | Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. |
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. | Behold, I stand at the door and knock. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. | See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all. |
