You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace. | Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace. |
And the Lord will be King over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one. | The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name. |

Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. | Those who place their hope in the Lord will regain their strength. They will soar as with eagles’ wings, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not become faint. |
Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you. | Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall. |
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not become bitter against them. | Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not treat them harshly. |
Do all things without complaining or arguments; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding firmly the word of life. | Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may show yourselves blameless and beyond reproach, children of God without spot in the midst of an evil and depraved generation, among which you shine like lights in the world as you hold fast tenaciously to the word of life. |
So it shall be when he becomes guilty of one of these things, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned. | Therefore, when someone is guilty of any one of these things, he shall confess the sin he has committed. |
Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Stop doing evil. | Wash yourselves and become clean; remove your evil deeds far from my sight. Cease to do evil. |
One who walks in integrity walks securely, But one who perverts his ways will be found out. | Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety, but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out. |
For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. | For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. |

Have you not heard? The Lord is the eternal God, the Creator of the earth’s farthest boundaries. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding cannot be scrutinized. |
In that I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you may live and become numerous, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it. | If you obey the command that I give you today, to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways, and to observe his commandments, statutes, and decrees, then you will live and multiply, and the Lord, your God, will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess. |
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people. | You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can be done to make it salty once again? It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot. |
But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does. | However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does. |
You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. | Remember this, my beloved brethren: everyone should be quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to anger. |

But I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. | Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified. |
And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” | Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.” |
In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. | By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation. |
Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin. | For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin. |
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice, mend your ways, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. | And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. |
And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” | He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” |
