- Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise.
- This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
that has become the cornerstone.’ - However, to those who did accept him
and who believed in his name
he granted the power to become children of God. - He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
- For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh. - He must increase;
I must decrease. - Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new.
- For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had.
- But whoever drinks the water that I will give him
will never be thirsty.
The water that I will give him
will become a spring of water within him
welling up to eternal life. - By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known.
- However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life.
- The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come.
- Wash yourselves and become clean;
remove your evil deeds
far from my sight.
Cease to do evil. - The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name.
- Come now and let us discuss this,
says the Lord.
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow.
Though they are as red as crimson,
they shall become as white as wool. - But from the very beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh.’ And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.
- Authority will be granted to the diligent,
but the lazy will be enslaved. - He replied, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said: ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh’? And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant.
- If in speaking I use human tongues
and angelic as well,
but do not have love,
I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. - Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but he who mingles with fools will suffer harm. - The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man.
The man said,
“This one is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh.
She shall be called woman
because she was taken from man.”
This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh.
Those who place their hope in the Lord
will regain their strength.
They will soar as with eagles’ wings,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not become faint. The prudent man perceives danger and seeks shelter,
while the simple continue forward and pay the penalty. Each person should give as much as he has decided in his heart, not with reluctance or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.Next verse! With image
