| This is ‘the stone rejected by you, the builders, that has become the cornerstone.’ | This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. |
| Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise. | Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. |

| However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |
| He must increase; I must decrease. | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
| He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
| For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. | For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. |
| Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new. | Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. |
| For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had. | For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end. |
| By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. | Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. |
| But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty. The water that I will give him will become a spring of water within him welling up to eternal life. | But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. |
| There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known. | For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
| However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life. | But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. |
| Wash yourselves and become clean; remove your evil deeds far from my sight. Cease to do evil. | Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. |
| The Lord will become king over the whole earth. When that day comes, he will be the only Lord, and his name will be the only name. | And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. |
| The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. | Authority will be granted to the diligent, but the lazy will be enslaved. | The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. |
| He replied, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said: ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh’? | Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
| This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant. | But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. |
| Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.” | And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. |
| Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but he who mingles with fools will suffer harm. | He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |
| If in speaking I use human tongues and angelic as well, but do not have love, I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. | Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. |
| The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man. The man said, “This one is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken from man.” This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh. | And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. |
