| He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
| Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. | Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. |

| But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |
| For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ | This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. |
| Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave. | The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. |
| This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! | Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. |
| But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. | But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. |

| Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
| When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. | Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. |
| If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. | Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. |
| But ‘God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together. | But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
