| Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. | Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. |
| This Jesus is ‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders; it has become the cornerstone.’ | This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. |

| But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |
| For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |

| Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known. | For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
| But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life. | But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. |

| You shall not abuse any widow or orphan. If you do abuse them, when they cry out to me, I will surely heed their cry; my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children orphans. | Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. | He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” | And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. |
| Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
| Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” | And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. |
| It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave. | But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. |
| Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature. | Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. |
| In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures. | Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. |
| Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm. | He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |
