- Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.
- This Jesus is
‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders;
it has become the cornerstone.’ - But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God.
- For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
- So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!
- For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
- My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.
- But those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.
- Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
- But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life.
- And the Lord will become king over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
- Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
- Come now, let us argue it out,
says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
- The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the lazy will be put to forced labor. - You shall not abuse any widow or orphan. If you do abuse them, when they cry out to me, I will surely heed their cry; my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children orphans.
- He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
- Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
- It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave.
- Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
- In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but the companion of fools suffers harm.
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cry.
