- Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

- Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
- Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
- It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave.
- If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
- The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the slothful will be put to forced labor. - You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
- He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
- And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
- And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but the companion of fools will suffer harm. - By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
- Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
- You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
- And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
- But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
- Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.
- But they who wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint. - When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed.
- Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil. - Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. - Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.
- Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
- And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
- For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
- Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
- Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
- But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
- And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
- Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
- For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
- If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
- Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
- And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field is deemed a forest. - “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
- Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. - For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
