- The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
- What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
- But godliness with contentment is great gain.
- What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
- Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life. - Guarding the paths of justice
and watching over the way of his saints. - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
- Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
- Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
- What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
- Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah
