Bible Verses about 'Debt'

And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives. The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously.
Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it?Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, But he who gathers by labor will increase.Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so.Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
