Father’s (2/4)

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us.May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.Because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them. The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow’s heart sing.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your ancestors for ever and ever.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.Hear my prayer, Lord, listen to my cry for help; do not be deaf to my weeping. I dwell with you as a foreigner, a stranger, as all my ancestors were.
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. And every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
