See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. | Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. |
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. |

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. | So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. |
Everyone comes naked from their mother’s womb, and as everyone comes, so they depart. They take nothing from their toil that they can carry in their hands. | As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand. |
Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord—with the first of them and with the last—I am he. | Who has performed and accomplished it, Summoning the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.’ |
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. | Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. |
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? | Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? |
Till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. | Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is considered as a forest. |
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. | But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. |
Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) | So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb also entered then, and he saw and believed. For they did not yet understand the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead. |
All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. | But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin. |
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. | But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. |
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. | But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You. |
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. | The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. |
Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. | Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds. |
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. | This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. |
For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. | For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. |
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. | Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. |
And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. |
But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. | But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. |
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. | You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I am commanding you. |
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. | But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. |
And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. | He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. |
But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. | But examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil. |
When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened. | When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. So He did not do it. |
