| This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. | Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. |
| Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. | How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? |
| So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” | For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. |
| After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness. | And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. |

| Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. | Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. |
| Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. | Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. |
| We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. | The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. |
| Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. | Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. |
| The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. | The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. |
| For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. | For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. |
| He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. | He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. |
| True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. | By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life. |
| My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. | My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. |
| I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. | He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? |
| But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. | But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. |
| Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did? | Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? |
| He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. | He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. |
