Fruit of the spirit (3/4)

And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor. The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
