Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds. | One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. |

On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. | On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. |
Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the human heart is fully set to do evil. | Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. |
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. | Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. |
Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed. | Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. |
Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love. | Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love. |
As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. | As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. |
So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. | So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. |
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. | Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. |
If you will only obey the Lord your God, by diligently observing all his commandments that I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. | And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. |
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart to revere your name. | Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. |
Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors! | Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased! |
Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward. | Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. |
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. | When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. |
Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. | Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. |
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. | The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. |
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. | I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. |
Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine. | Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine. |
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on a level path. | Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! |

Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And just then there appeared a woman with a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and was quite unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your ailment.” When he laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured on the sabbath, kept saying to the crowd, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be cured, and not on the sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to give it water? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the sabbath day?” When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame; and the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things that he was doing. | Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him. |
