Bible Verses about 'Gain'

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.
But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to dishonest gain.Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth; Stop dwelling on it.Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.
For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
One who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor one who loves abundance with its income. This too is futility. Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!
A person’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.
Blessed is a person who finds wisdom, And one who obtains understanding.Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.
Better is a little with righteousness Than great income with injustice.Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest.
Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth.Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.
A wicked person earns deceptive wages, But one who sows righteousness gets a true reward.Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last.
When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them? The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and a good reputation In the sight of God and man.Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them. They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from your face that helped them, for you loved them.
For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed Me and fulfilled his duty to Me, and kept My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars of the sky, and I will give them all these lands. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed. I will do this because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements, commands, decrees, and instructions.
