Bible Verses about 'Gain'
- For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.
- Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
- And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
- Give me an eagerness for your laws
rather than a love for money! - Teach us to realize the brevity of life,
so that we may grow in wisdom. - And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
- If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
- Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!
- Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich.
Be wise enough to know when to quit. - Pride ends in humiliation,
while humility brings honor. - Joyful is the person who finds wisdom,
the one who gains understanding. - Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest. - Get wisdom; develop good judgment.
Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. - Evil people get rich for the moment,
but the reward of the godly will last. - The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
- But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint. - Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation. - They did not conquer the land with their swords;
it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory.
It was your right hand and strong arm
and the blinding light from your face that helped them,
for you loved them. - Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
- I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars of the sky, and I will give them all these lands. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed. I will do this because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements, commands, decrees, and instructions.
