Bible Verses about 'Gain'

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.Godliness produces great gain, but only to those who are content.
For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to dishonest gain.Dispose my heart to follow your statutes and to flee selfish gain.
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom.
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth; Stop dwelling on it.Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it.
For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing.
Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Those who place their hope in the Lord will regain their strength. They will soar as with eagles’ wings, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not become faint.
One who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor one who loves abundance with its income. This too is futility. One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money, nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain. This too is vanity.
A person’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.A man’s pride will bring him low, but lowly souls will rise to honor.
Blessed is a person who finds wisdom, And one who obtains understanding.Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding.

When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them? When riches increase, so do those who are eager to accumulate them, and those who have accumulated them must remain content simply to feast their eyes on them.
Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and a good reputation In the sight of God and man.Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you; fasten them around your neck and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will gain favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them.It was not their own swords that won them the land, nor did their own arms make them victorious; rather, it was your right hand and your arm and the light of your face, because you loved them.
For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed Me and fulfilled his duty to Me, and kept My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars of the heavens and I will give them all these lands. All the nations on the earth will be blessed through your descendants, for Abraham listened to my voice and observed that which I ordered: my commandments, my ordinances and my laws.
