Bible Verses about 'Gain'

But godliness with contentment is great gain.Godliness produces great gain, but only to those who are content.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain.Dispose my heart to follow your statutes and to flee selfish gain.
So teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.A man’s pride will bring him low, but lowly souls will rise to honor.
If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing. If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing.
He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity. One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money, nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain. This too is vanity.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding.Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding.
Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.Wealth hastily acquired will dwindle away, but when amassed little by little, it will increase.
Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice. It is better to have little and be righteous than to acquire great riches with injustice.
Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth.Acquire wisdom and gain understanding; never forget or turn aside from my words.
Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. The labors of the wicked man produce little profit, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes? When riches increase, so do those who are eager to accumulate them, and those who have accumulated them must remain content simply to feast their eyes on them.
That their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so that they may grow rich in their complete understanding as they come to the knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ.
Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you; fasten them around your neck and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will gain favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.It was not their own swords that won them the land, nor did their own arms make them victorious; rather, it was your right hand and your arm and the light of your face, because you loved them.
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and will give all these lands to your offspring. In your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my requirements, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars of the heavens and I will give them all these lands. All the nations on the earth will be blessed through your descendants, for Abraham listened to my voice and observed that which I ordered: my commandments, my ordinances and my laws.
