Now godliness with contentment is great gain.Godliness produces great gain, but only to those who are content.
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.Dispose my heart to follow your statutes and to flee selfish gain.
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding.Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing.
For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.It was not their own swords that won them the land, nor did their own arms make them victorious; rather, it was your right hand and your arm and the light of your face, because you loved them.
He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity. One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money, nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain. This too is vanity.
A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.A man’s pride will bring him low, but lowly souls will rise to honor.

Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
When goods increase, They increase who eat them; So what profit have the owners Except to see them with their eyes? When riches increase, so do those who are eager to accumulate them, and those who have accumulated them must remain content simply to feast their eyes on them.
Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you; fasten them around your neck and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will gain favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars of the heavens and I will give them all these lands. All the nations on the earth will be blessed through your descendants, for Abraham listened to my voice and observed that which I ordered: my commandments, my ordinances and my laws.
