Gift of life (2/4)

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.
Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life.True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.
Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.
Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity.So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.
The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke.The rich can pay a ransom for their lives, but the poor won’t even get threatened.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds.
For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord.For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
He who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honor.Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
