Giving to the needy (2/4)

But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God.
The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.”But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.”
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end.For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had.
Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”“Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again. “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.Entrust everything that you do to the Lord, and your plans will turn out to be successful.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.I lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where will I receive help? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you.You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have life.
For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying, ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles so that you may bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’
So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.
Yahweh will command his loving kindness in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life.During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God.
But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s.If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his mercy endures forever.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer. However, the face of the Lord is set against those who do evil.
If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the Church. And if he refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.
Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Make his doings known among the peoples.Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; proclaim his deeds among the peoples.
“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil.If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening.
He sat down and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
Sing to Yahweh, for he has done excellent things! Let this be known in all the earth!Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds; let this be known throughout the entire world.
He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.”Then he took a cup, and after offering thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from this, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.Therefore, whenever you give alms, do not trumpet your generosity, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets in order to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have already received their reward.
