| The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value. | The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. |
| Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. | Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. |
| The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. | The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. |
| The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. | The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. |
| The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. | The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. |
