- Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
- For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
- The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
- For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
- According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
- The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. - He coveteth greedily all the day long:
but the righteous giveth and spareth not. - A little that a righteous man hath
is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:
but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. - For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous;
with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. - The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. - The name of the Lord is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. - The memory of the just is blessed:
but the name of the wicked shall rot. - The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way. - The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. - Blessings are upon the head of the just:
but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice:
and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. - The hope of the righteous shall be gladness:
but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. - Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer
the righteous to be moved. - The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind:
the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down:
the Lord loveth the righteous. - Ye that love the Lord, hate evil:
he preserveth the souls of his saints;
he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. - For the Lord loveth judgment,
and forsaketh not his saints;
they are preserved for ever:
but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. - Envy thou not the oppressor,
and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
but his secret is with the righteous. - But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
- Thus saith the Lord,
Stand ye in the ways, and see,
and ask for the old paths,
where is the good way, and walk therein,
and ye shall find rest for your souls.
But they said, We will not walk therein.
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
bind them about thy neck;
write them upon the table of thine heart:
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding
in the sight of God and man.Next verse!With image
