15 Bible Verses about Punishment - NIV & KJV

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.
My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord;
neither be weary of his correction:
For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth;
even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself;
but the simple pass on, and are punished.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
God sets the lonely in families,
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
God setteth the solitary in families:
he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

psalms 139:1-2
You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
